ちょっとがっかり、オバマさん

デンゼル・ワシントン顔負けのカッコイイ演説でした。
別に仔細に検討するなどという大袈裟なことではないですが、・・・。

Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age.
(我々の経済は、ひどく弱体化している。一部の者の強欲と無責任の結果であるだけでなく、厳しい決断をすることなく、国家を新しい時代に適合させそこなった我々全員の失敗の結果である。)

Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control - and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our Gross Domestic Product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart - not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.
(問うべきなのは、市場の良しあしでもない。富を作り自由を広げる市場の力に比肩するものはない。だが、今回の（経済）危機は、監視がなければ、市場は統制を失い、豊かな者ばかりを優遇する国の繁栄が長続きしないことを我々に気づかせた。我々の経済の成功はいつも、単に国内総生産（ＧＤＰ）の大きさだけでなく、我々の繁栄が広がる範囲や、機会を求めるすべての人に広げる能力によるものだった。慈善としてではなく、公共の利益に通じる最も確実な道としてだ。)

「一億総懺悔」的なのが気になる。原因があって結果がある。結果として、多くの人々がバブルに酔ったのであって、原因は多くの人々にあるのはないと思う。

「監視」すれば市場はコントロールできるのだろうか？

社会（経済）システムへの突っ込みが足らないように思う。過去、日本を嘲笑ったような「注入」をやらざるを得ない未曾有の状況への分析、質的転換を捉えきれていない、そんな歯がゆさを感じました。
